1996 saw the Coastal Safety Service perform at the International Festival of the Sea in Bristol, England. A dozen dedicated and highly trained lifeguards and marine safety technicians borrowed two safety boats and took on the role of safety co-
There followed a number of such festivals and tall ships races in Portsmouth, England where “”Coastal Safety” were requested to provide a safety cover for numbers of up to 50,000 spectators and participants.
Over the years Coastal Safety provided safety cover at the following events:
- Waterfest – Weymouth Harbour, England
- International Festival of the Sea –
Bristol, England - International Festival of the Sea – Portsmouth, England
- Tall Ships Race – Portsmouth, England
- International Festival of the Sea, Newport, Wales
- Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race, London, England
Recognising that internationally accepted qualifications were required , Coastal Safety quickly became a Royal Yachting Association training centre, this was granted in November 1996.
In 2003, Coastal Safety started running training courses in Dhabi, United Arab Emirates and so Coastal Sea School ME was formed.
Today, the training arm is known as “Coastal Sea School” and grows from strength to strength. Amongst the many clients on the portfolio we are proud to include:
