Coastal Safety – Origins

“Coastal Safety – Origins” – We are asked from time to time … where did your name “Coastal Safety” come from ?

Well, back in the day, we started as a voluntary lifeguard service and decided that our rescue boat drivers should have some “proper” qualifications. Coastal Safety – Origins

After a “useful” telephone conversation with the, then,  head of RYA training, we were given a clear path ahead to become professional in manner and qualifications.

And so our destiny as Coastal Safety Training came in the form of the “Rescue And Safety Coastal Lifeguards”

and  “Coastal Sea School” based in Weymouth and Poole in sunny Dorset, England.

Since then we have followed many pathways, some good, some bad and many lessons have been learned along the way.

We feel proud and happy to have served so many people and to encourage “safe boating” to so many 🙂

So, you can trace our foundation back to 1996.
